Bank Note – photo made for collector – image passed cs4 / was cleaned & reconstructed Featured in Nostalgic Art and Photography Money makes the WORLD go round Banknote collecting, or Notaphily, is a rapidly growing area of numismatics. Although generally not as widespread as coin and stamp collecting the hobby is increasingly expanding. Prior to the 1990s, currency collecting was a relatively small adjunct to coin collecting, but the practice of currency auctions, combined with larger public awareness of paper money have caused a boom in interest and values of rare banknotes this image, and many others I made for a collector / who had to borrow the bank note, to be able to get at least a photos of his dream…well… Money, so they say, / Is the root of all evil / Today, I do not mind that much to have it though & &

This old yellow bridge is over 75yrs old and played an integral part of my growing-up years. It used to be the main road on the way to my sister’s house…50 miles away. As a child…I used to think it was sooo massive & exciting when our car tires went ‘thumpity-thump’ over the wooden slats. / (Topaz v2.3…CS3) / /

This old farmhouse still stands the middle of a farmer’s field, but it is obvious that nobody has lived here for many, many years. The house is totally cut off from the nearest road, with not as much as a pathway to approach it. I often find myself trying to envision all of the people who had known this farmhouse as their family’s home. There must be some very interesting history behind this mysterious old place. This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 350mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/60th sec at f/8. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated. © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist. A vintage wagon is slowly being reclaimed by the elements. These strong old horse drawn wagons enabled the West to be opened up by early settlers and played a key part in the everyday life of the 1800’s.
