D70, 24-85mm / Cutler Harbor, Maine during a winters storm.
The day broke crisp, clear, cold, and bright following an overnight soft snowfall of several inches. The eye was completely captivated by this snow covered expanse of a most delicate character, pristene, tranquil, homeric! Sometimes you just get lucky. The camera used for this shot was the medium format Mamiya 645 Pro w/45mm wide angle lens. The filtering was a combination of No.21 Org + Polarizer. The camera was set for f16 1 sec.. The film was Ilford's Pan-f Plus rated at ISO-50 and developed in Gordon Hutchings PMK developer 1:2:100 75 degrees. The film was given minus development to soften the contrast and normal agitation to hold the ‘softening’ effect in check.
Alter yesterday snowstorm and additional storm over night we finally got some sun Brookline, MA New England / Featured in The New England Group 4-13-2009
As do most of the businesses and hotels on Cape Cod in winter, this cottage in Provincetown, MA was the perfect sight to capture the cold winter sunset behind these clouds. I opted for black and white to give it more depth.

Beautiful clear bubble pond in Acadia National Park
I tried this shot in color, platinum, black and white, and this duotone/selective coloring kinda deal. How i came up with this one was to take the platinum image on the top layer, with the color underneath, then reduced the transparency of the platinum layer. I really like how it came out. I think it looks more interesting than just the solid layers. Date: circa June 2008 / Location: Lynn Harbor, Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts, USA / Photographer: FireLilyAMG/Allyssa L. Edwards / Camera: Kodak Easyshare dx7630 Feedback is always appreciated. You may not use my art, in any way, shape, or form, without complete written permission from me. I am no longer with AMI, so If you wish to use it, message me, and we’ll discuss any possibilities.

New England is known around the United States and the World for it’s unique history, culture and landscape.
This group is for art, photography and writing from the glorious states of New England.
For the record, the region “New England” consists of the states Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
New York and New Jersey are NOT New England states.
Please do NOT post images that don’t say “New England”. For example, pictures of:
1) Just people (with nothing New-England-y in the scene)
2) Closeups of your pet (unless it’s in a New England scene)
3) Closeups of flowers, leaves, and so on. Zoom out. A FIELD of flowers is fine.
Generally closeups are a bad idea. There are plenty of groups for pictures of people, cats, flowers, and so on. Please use those groups. Just because you were physically IN New England when you took the picture doesn’t qualify it for this group. A picture of a shoe is still just a shoe no matter where you took it. A closeup of a fern could be from any state. Make the images you submit here scream “Only in New England!”
There can be exceptions. A picture of your cat is fine – as long as he’s sitting on a pumpkin in front of a barn. I actually would like to have more pictures of people – IF they’re in a NE setting. Here’s a good example: the joy of youth
