  • The Beauty by AnthonyDavey

Ahhh the beauty in the most simplest of things, I love the curve and subtle contrast of the two colours top & bottom. When you have a camera in your hand beauty is everywhere

  • Paranoid ? by AnthonyDavey

This is an old pic from my days living in Kings Cross, I lived in this converted wharehouse which had vast space, it great what you can do with studio lights, wine and some imagination. Tri X would have been my film of choice back then.

  • Kite by jemimalovesbigted

On the bay here the wind can get pretty full on, so Altona is a major place for kite surfers to congregate and battle it out against old blowy! It is an amazing sight when there is about 20 or so of them scattered along the shore, jumping and flipping as they scoot across the water! I am desperate to try it, but have not the extra money to give it a go yet…... one day =)

  • Then,I found you ...R.B by micmac

I took that shot at the lake near my house .The ice was melting and I found that lost red ball reappearing with the spring … When I found Redbubble ,my heart just melt,it was like spring on a sunny day!!!! /

  • Blue Monday by Michael J Armijo

I took this shot in Nice, France. The original shot was non-digital, so I took a digital photo of the shot and tried a blue tint. I kind of like it this way…it’s like he’s a detective and only The Shadow Knows…for sure. :) / I originally caption titled the photo: / Pondering My Past, Present & Future / (seems like this chap could be doing that as well).

  • 'Day Moon' by Sky Fox FPP

Islamorada, Florida USA ‘Mama, why does the sun shine sometimes during the day’? That was the first thing that flew out of my babies mouth (age 8) as he climbed into the boat after school yesterday. I took a picture of it – using my leg as a tripod – and the lesson began. You can see the Moon in the daytime because it is big and brightly lit by the Sun. The surface of the Moon is about as reflective as an asphalt road—rather dark but not totally black. When you look at the Moon, you are seeing the light which reflects off it. This is not nearly as bright as the Sun, but it is up to 100,000 times as bright as the brightest nighttime star. During the day, the brightness of the sky washes out the light from the stars: a region of the sky including a bright star is only very slightly brighter than a region of the sky without a bright star, so your eye cannot notice the difference. However, the region of the sky containing the Moon is much brighter, so you can see it. You can also sometimes see Venus during the day if the conditions are right and you know exactly where to look, but anything dimmer is lost. It might be useful to think of the Sun as a large light bulb, and the moon as a large mirror. There are situations where we can’t see the light bulb, but we can see the light from the bulb reflected in the mirror. This is the situation when the moon is out at night. We can’t see the Sun directly because the earth is blocking our view of it, but we can see its light reflected from the moon. However, there are also situations where we can see both the light bulb and the mirror, and this is what is happening when we see the moon during the day. You can explore this for yourself with a light and a hand mirror. Depending on which way you face (away from the light or sideways to the light) you can see either just the mirror, or both the light and the mirror. After all of that he said, ‘cool’ and that was that. The subject matter wasnt as exciting as he had hoped but he learned something. So – I figured I would post this here in case others forgot to ask their Mama’s. Kids! Gotta love ‘em! / ______ / /

  • wall of life by MrTim

What struck me about this image was the texture of the wall and colours, the contrast between the white wall and colours of the taps and piping. Canon 400D in Manual / Aperture: 1.8 / Shutter Speed: 1/1000 / Using a canon 50mm 1.8

About This Group

Minimalism (wikipedia definition) ....movements in various forms of art and design, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features. The minimalist photography emphasizes simplicity and objectivity.

The aim of Minimalism is to allow the viewer to experience the work more intensely without the distractions of composition, theme and so on.

Some simple standard guidelines:
  1. One upload a day only. Please don’t flood the group. This gives a chance for everyones work to be featured on the front page and also be viewed by other members. I will delete images from members who upload more than one image.
  2. Don’t critique an art piece unless explicitly stated by the artist that they want critique.
  3. Also consider the nature of the group minimalist. I have seen a few images that have too many competing elements to really be classed as minimalist. I know this is open to personal interpretation and I am open to suggestions how we as members can insure that the theme of the group is upheld.
  4. Please remember that if your art work is deleted from the group, it was deleted due to point 1 and potentially point 3 above. It does NOT reflect on the quality of the art work itself.
  5. Any questions/suggestions, Bubblemail me (I love getting Bubblemail).
