This is an excellent rose. Love the color. Love the rain drops. Love the light and shadows all nicely in focus. That leaves only the background. The rose itself can be cropped into a square photo nicely. To maintain the retangle in landscape position, the background on the right needs to be darkened. A path or a select tool would select it easily. How dark to make it is a matter of taste. When I played with it I made it quite dark, but not black. On the other hand, cropping in on the right, even extending the dark area on the left to maintain the retangular shape would bring the left edge of the rose with its nicely curled and raindropped petals more towards the center. |

Thanks Lexsis – i am learning to see with a much more critical eye which is a good thing. I don’t mean just meaningless criticism – I mean seeing to make better – a call to excellence. Thanks for your well articulated reflections. |

Beautiful rose, placement is great. I’m beginning to feel raindrops on flowers is getting a bit over done but that’s just personal nothing to do with your image which is very nice indeed. I don’t know if this was real rain or artifically added rain drops it’s nice but the rose really doesn’t need it in my opion it stands on it’s own as a beautifully formed rose. |
