i’m not sure that your narrow band of focus works here. i appreciate what you are trying to do by putting a “Focus Spot” on your small little sprout against the blurred environment. in my opinion, there is just too much background abstraction smothering the subject. i would get as close as your equipment will allow on this. i see it with all green and the little sprout about 3x closer than you are here.

what i do like is the light and color. very nice natural green, not over saturated with super shadow detail.

Thanks for the input. I am really new at this and can use all the help I can get. I knew something was off but couldn’t quite see it. Now it is blatantly obvious. I also knew I liked it,so again thanks for drawing my attention to the “good” bits. Thanks again, Linda

I really like this picture, but honestly, couldnt find what was “here” at first. I had to read JK’s post to understand what you were going for.

I, too, liked the colors though.

i see you!!!

i can see what you are doing here and the DoF is fine imo. i have looked for objects to do the exact same thing on :)
i would have gone in a bit closer tho. and position the “sprout” in the bottom 1/3 (as per 1/3 rule of photography. you could have boosted teh saturation just a tad too :)

Agree the composition is good, but zooming in would improve it and make what your trying show more clean.

I agree with Barbabra, I couldn’t hardly make out what I was suppose to be looking for, but then I found a little something. Yes, I would try zooming in or a crop will bring it in closer for you… JMHO
