I use a Plamp a lot now to hold a subject still in a breeze. What gadgets have you used to counter the effects of movement.

I once had a cloths pin glued to a sharp stick. This I painted flat green.I would just stick it in the ground an place the cloths pin on the stem.

I also fish. One of the lines I used was 2 pound test in the color brown.I carried a spool that I had for fly fishing with me to place on stems in 3 directions to help stablize it some. When finished I aways removed the line so as not harm the plant.

Enough of my wizardry lets here yours

Thanks for the tips Gary. BTW I love the collection of old cabins, barns and wheels in your folio.

I just use pacence. If its to windy I’ll try a different day or use a difuseing box made of white cloth to block the wind

love some of those natty ideas. I usually pray for a calm moment, or hold it with my other hand, or if I am with someone, get them to hold it. I do notice one thing. On a calm day, when there is no wind, the moment I focus on the subject, the wind will start blowing. strange that!

Photogenique, I thought I was the only one that happened to! I agree with MWFoster, if its too windy I simply wait for better conditions.

Photogenique,I’ve been beside a road on a calm day right about when I’m gonna take my shot a car a come by 90 miles an hour and seems like it takes forever for everything to calm back down

Too funny, Photogenique, I just made a comment to my husband the other day about it being a calm, no wind day, until I find a subject to photograph and all the sudden a breeze would start. Lol..

I too use patience and luck sometimes, but I love some of these ideas. I have an old Golfing Umbrella (very big) that I painted the inside a flat white and use it sometimes to shade the subject as well as use it for shading and lighting purposes.

But mostly I just wait for a calm day and pretend like I’m not taking photos so it won’t get breezy..lol

Thanks for all the tips here…I’ll keep them in mind next time.
