  • Amazing Encounter by ApeArt

This was the moment in Rwanda just before this young mountain gorilla, Ntakibazo came up to me and touched my face. He was extremely curious. Just as curious as we were of him. I shall never forget this moment. As soon as he touched me all hell broke loose and the guides made a lot of fuss and made me move away. You see it is not a good idea to encourage this behaviour. I could have stayed there all day, being touched by my new furry friend. I felt extremely blessed and privileged.

Oil on Canvas. The great trek to work, is it evening or morning that he embarks on his journey into the big city. Reflections on how work can dominate family life. Ironically we need to work to acheive the Australian suburban dream.

  • The Joys of Life by Elizabeth Duncan

They caught my eye when I was walking from shelly beach to manly. So I went up to them and asked it I could take their picture. The one on the left side side yes straight away but the other one took I little convincing. I find that sometimes you need to remind people that they are interesting. I think explaning that I liked them as a pair was the reason I was allowed to take this photo. I did not ask them to pose simply to stand there. Through out the six photos I took of them they were laughing about the fact they were being photographed (I was laughing with them). When I told them I was finished one of them remarked “is that all?” (laughing). / Thanks to them I got a great shot and was smiling for the rest of the day! Image copyright © 2008, Elizabeth Duncan. • A Beautiful Mom by Jan Landers

Today being Mother’s Day, I would like to pay tribute to one of the most beautiful Moms I know….my niece, Sarah, who lives in Texas and had her first baby this past October….Savannah Brie Stallings. I was there when Sarah was born, and we have always been extremely close. I moved to Colorado when she was only 2, fearing that our bond would fade, but it never has. I have seen her move through childhood, her teenage years, and now into adulthood. I am so proud of the person she is….compassionate, loving, creative, kind-hearted, strong, gentle, smart, funny….. At the young age of 23, she has balanced a year of transitions…..getting married….having a baby….all the while working a full time job and going to college….and she has handled it beautifully. Yesterday, Sarah graduated from Jr. College. She is studying and passionate about photography and graphic arts….and she has a gift for both. We have always known that Sarah was born to be a Mom….and now she is….Savannah is so blessed to have Sarah to care for her and love her with all her being. This picture was taken when Savannah was about 2 weeks old. She is now 7 months old….ahhhh…..the Circle of Life continues…. Happy Mother’s Day, Sarah…..I love you! And a happy day to all the other Moms out there!!!
