This new series is about beauty… about women and what their beauty says about them…their stories….more than anything else hair is a woman’s crowning glory and says a lot about her…we women many times hide behind our hair…it is an emblem of our strength….we spend eons of time and money on our hair, we mourn it’s loss when we are ill, and rejoice on our good hair days ... I painted a bit of myself in “Lilah”....she is the closest I have come to a self portrait…her mouth is like mine when I’m not smiling, but my eyes are less slanted…I used to have my hair like that…in fact it’s like that in my avatar, but now it’s really short…masses of hair was just too much work… / Lilah is a dancer that has just been promoted to principal dancer from the corps de ballet..she lives with two other dancers near the studio, and plans to get her own place as soon as she can…next year the company will be touring Europe and Lilah has been given several important roles…it’s a liitle scary, but she can handle it... Watercolour on 300lb Arches Not Paper..30×23 The entire Portrait Collection can be viewed by clickingHERE / Cat / Jane / Delia
