Church in Civita by William Mason
Civita de Bagnoregio is a small medieval village in the Lazio region of italy. The village is in a spectacular hill top position in an otherwise desolate valley. A few people still live in the village but most of the buildings have been abandoned. However, some restoration work is currently underway.

Venezia 2007_El Padron de Casa by GregV
‘El Padron de Casa’ (literally ‘the Householder’) is the affectionate name given by the inhabitants of Venice to St Mark’s campanile, one of the most representative symbols of the city. This 98m-high bell tower, located in the square of the same name just in front of the Basilica, may have formerly been a lookout post or even a lighthouse before it collapsed from a lightning strike in 1902. The reconstruction was completed in 1912. This photo belongs to a series dedicated to the city of Venice, where I did a trip in 2007 during the Carnival period. MRS. JESUS ? by Warren Mackenzie
In the Naples, Italy Royal Palace (Capodimonte) there is a huge collection of very old large religious paintings. One such is a version of the “Last Supper”. This shows a female figure next to Jesus, in addition to the 12 disciples. Has history been wrong for 2000 years—-was there a Mrs. Jesus Christ? In, “The Jesus Family Tomb,” (The Discovery Channel’s TV documentary) director Simcha Jacobovici claims there is “evidence” that Jesus and Mary Magdalene indeed were married and had a son named Judah. Jacobovici is not the first to postulate a possible romantic relationship between Jesus and Mary. The movie, The Last Temptation of Christ, and books such as Holy Blood, Holy Grail, and The Da Vinci Code, made a secret relationship between Jesus and Mary central to their themes. The Da Vinci Code begins with a page of facts that makes the fictional novel appear to be true in all its assertions. The book has broken all records on the New York Times best-sellers list, and has been followed by a blockbuster movie. Author Dan Brown’s clever weaving of fact with fiction has convinced many readers that Jesus and Mary Magdalene really were married and had a child. But is this romantic assertion just hype to sell books and movies, or is it supported by historical evidence.
