Looming Lockers by PolarityPhoto
The locker room and employee wash room in an abandoned mill in Connecticut where the first motion picture with sound was filmed. I purposely left this frame dark. This is how it looks standing in the room. Sure I could have shot a long exposure and yes, you could have seen the lockers on the floors, or maybe you would be able to see the round community sink a little better but then you wouldn’t know what it feels like to walk down the stairs into this room. This factory has more windows than any other building i’d been in. Yet, the employee locker and wash room was pitch black with no windows. I hope you enjoy. EOS 30D – 18-55mm EFS lens – RAW format – ISO 160 – Exposed 15 seconds @ f/16

About This Group
A site for those working with lighting and shadows. A shadow (a distinct line caused by the blocking of light) must be prominently displayed. (This will NOT include photos that are only taken in the dark, at night, in silhouette, in shade, have only a reflection, or which have been altered to be generally darker post-production).

Literal Inspriration Challenge: “I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.”
