This little tree frog used to stay around my deck until he met an untimely death. I miss this little fellow and his night singing, not to mention the bad bugs I’m sure he munched on. I am glad I was able to get some photos before he was gone. I have a friendly toad that has taken his place on the deck now. Tracing Nature by Andrew Davoll
One dark and stormy morning, I arrived at Sugerloaf Rock in the Leeuwin Naturaliste / National Park. With a blustery wind blowing the clouds across the horizon and intermittent showers angling in from the ocean, it was a difficult environment for photography. I spent a couple of hours trying to make a strong image. Packing my gear away, I discovered a new and beautiful miniature landscape – the rock I had been standing on! Previously, I had spent hours looking out to sea, or up to the sky, trying to anticipate the best light. In my endeavours, I had almost overlooked this beautiful stone, with its hidden colours now seen in the wet conditions. can you see the ‘fish’?
