Provence landscape : French bastide in the winter vineyard.
This vineyard grows grapes for the sweet, white wine known as Jurancon in Monein, France. The vineyard sits in a valley below the Pyrenees mountain range, close to the Spanish border.

Spectacularly perched on the slopes of the Hoddle range overlooking Corner Inlet and the magnificant Wilsons Promontory is a small vineyard that is aptly titled Windy Ridge Winery… Pretty as a picture on a misty cold dawn in late autumn…very late ! in fact the last day of autumn. bubblesite / photography blog / portfolio ©T.Middleton2009 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / see more of my TRUE panoramic photography by clicking on the image below / /

Durbanville (Western Cape, South Africa) began as an outspan area named Pampoenkraal that became a meeting place for early travellers, transport riders and local farmers. In time, a small village developed. It was renamed D’Urban after Sir Benjamin D’Urban in 1838, and Durbanville in 1886. The latter-day farm Rooseboom so impressed Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel, in 1685 that he noted it for posterity. At the time of his trip through the Durbanville area, on his way to Namaqualand, the first farmers had been in the region for over twenty years, having been given farms by the government around the spring and the pan in the area. The spring became a popular “outspan” (resting place) during the early 18th century. Travellers to and from the coast would stop here to replenish water and food supplies, creating a demand for fresh meat and a market for cattle farmers. Soon cattle farming was supplemented with wheat production. Not long after, the first vineyards were planted and within a decade most farmers were producing enough wine for themselves and their dependants. As early as 1702 the first surplus of wine was recorded among the producers and could very well have resulted in the first sales of wine from the region. Taken with my Canon PowerShot S2 IS

I took this photo of a farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada / You can see the vineyards in front of the barns. A friend of mine helps with the ice wine grape harvest in the winter. I need some help please / I did this entire photo in lightroom. but the photo I see in lightroom seems perfect but then when I publish it and view it in firefox it is too dark. It is also a bit too dark in Internet Explorer. I then have to lighten it in lightroom but I am not sure what everyone is seeing. Are the grapes in the foreground too dark?
