VAVOOM WORLD OF ART AND VERSE
Tosted Ghoast fellow surrealist and quite a storyteller himself says of Catrino and her image: ≈ Beyond words! Kibishipaul Paul has been living in Japan for 20 years now and his photos reflect his love of his home. Paul professes a preference of calm and uncomplicated images. I found this exemplified in the serene hanei
And then I was startled by Ticket to Ride Who is that lone person I wonder…..missed their ride?
He is still experimenting but wow …what beautiful experiments me thinks! A Canon G9 opened up a whole new world of digital images about a year and a half ago for Paul….GO see more of his awakening! This week we feature a photo of his son in the image aoi kasa which captured my heart instantly. ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ Anne McGinn Anne come out where ever you are? Hmmm I wonder if she’s hiding somewhere perhaps in a haven me thinks?? Anne has just had the daunting task of moving house. Hope she has some stunning flowers like these Geraniums to decorate her new home. ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
ForestGirl has photo art that so speaks ‘journey’ to me. I found her Fractured V beckons reflection to me. This beautiful artist has been moved by the poetry of Emily Dickison and penned some verses herself. Her art titled My Journey has just been accepted to become the new logo for The Byron Shire Committee Against Domestic Violence.

Rob is a self taught illustrator, artist some time cartoonist. He started his art career in 1982. Teddies first bath shows his great skill with graphite wash. ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
Iris’ work is work is influenced by Eliot Porter and Freeman Patterson. She finds inspiration in the beauty of pastoral landscapes and nature. She wants to show beauty, mystery, mood and simplicity in her images and she achieves these qualities time and time again, another beautiful image Doble leaf.
≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ Tracy is a writer and artist living in the mid-west of ireland, in a cottage in the woods, close to the bog where she sources her oak and pine for sculpting, She’s been writing poetry since the late 80’s. And what a wonderful talented and thoughtul writer she is. “I write about everything because I believe that everything can be distilled into poetry, what I write is relevant to my life and to my experience of the world on an everyday as well as a more spiritual level, my poetry is honest and genuine, conceived and composed in my soul. To me, poetry is like music and words are like magic, poetry is passion and good poetry can transport you, nourish you, alert you to better possibilities and offer a better way of being in the world.” In this week’s featured verse ultimatum Tracy has encapsulated a unique emotional feeling ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ A divorcee, with two daughters and two grandsons, each of whom she adores and is very proud of. This wonderful poet who has survived some of the worst kind of abuse known to mankind, writes from deep in the heart, yet she tempers much of her work with a massive sense of humour and a great penchant for fun! “I’m addicted to pleasure and pain in unequal measure, and I’m just discovering how talented and loved I am worldwide… I love life and people. I’m finding ways to help myself and make the best of things…” This week’s featured verse Headlock Inertia Showcases the depth, and talent of this fine poet. ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ 33 yearold Wordslinger, AKA Luke Swanson, has been writing poetry since highschool, This week’s featured verse Children of the Stars will leave you wanting more from this young poet. Heh Matt do you know what “Os gewlch yn da” – means? if you do I’m gunna be mighty impressed! Our rather cheeky resident VaVoom Welshman holds a magic pen me thinks. Well Matt I think you should see for yourself and have a read of Date with Destiny which we are featuring this week. ...oh and some tissues nearby may be handy for this really poignant read. ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ Wandering around I could feel the vibrations from Midori. She is a talent extraordinaire. Art and Verse be her talented gifts. Currently she is focusing on her next art exhibition, “Jazz in the Air” (26 Sept – 8 Oct 09). She has the wonderful opportunity to showcase her works in the community library during Manly International Jazz Festival in NSW (Oz). Midori has a love of music that she often translates into art. On her canvases she paints her dreams and people, as well as the concepts of love and music. ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ Says he is just a cool cat who likes to travel….There is more to this cat let me tell you! A native of Jamaica, his writings reflect growing up on the island but mostly related, in his own words “to my manhood under the American sun.” I find his writing really plunges into the journey of mankind highlighting the less desirable… He has been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) for the last fifteen years. The majority of his teaching has taken place in New York City but for the last four years he has made Georgia his home making his writing more fresh due to the new experiences of being a black man in the South. He can really open your heart to feel so very deeply. This week we feature Absentee Jesus Pixie Magic ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
rocking back and forth rock and roll on the keyboard Another Father’s day , is here dad its time to write a story World of Bullshit and then again So Lisa, what are your three selections for this week and why? Radiohead – Creep “not telling” The Clash – Should I stay or should I go “because I’m sometimes That girl” Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole ‘IZ’ ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ HQ “it puts a smile in my heart” Well that’s pretty diverse, thank you Lisa. hmmm, I wonder what the “not telling” says ;-)... And Well then S&RA, what are your three selections for this week and why? More than words…Extreme ......sigh ;-) (as important as words are, there is more than words) It is a Special treat from Matt and KarenSue, this is a video that gives you a look at the real “ART” of comic acting. This is the start of it Our choice of calendar artist is Arla M. Ruggles With Ghosts Of Old Cherry Creek In Arla’s words “These old Cherry Creek ghosts are like my friends – the older and more infirm we each become, the dearer they are to me; the greater my desire to show them in their best light and form. Not polished and painted like aging Hollywood divas; but bearing the sags and scars of their natural ages. Most of them are beyond rehabilitation, now.”
