This is about how over time we can end up up trying to change or fix the very things that drew us to another.I am always fascinated (and hurt when I am at the other end…and have been on both sides if I were to be honest) with how we originally are drawn to complimentary characteristics that in a way complete us but then try and wipe the differences and try to make the other in our own image. Bald Eagles with Prey by David Friederich
Featured in 300+ Go Long. A mated pair of bald eagles hover over a mallard duck the female has captured. The male, who is smaller than his mate, will have to wait his turn for a meal from the carcass. The image was captured on Canada’s southwest coast near Vancouver in British Columbia, using a Nikon D700, a Nikkor f4 600 mm lens and 1:4 teleconverter. Camera settings: ISO 800, -0.67 EV, f14, 1/800s.

Mandala : Red Heart Passion by danita clark
On Canson paper, Ink Pens, Art pens, Acrylic and Irridescent acrylic. Doodling with ink pens one evening; i started from the centre. I was having fun mirroring and repeating images as this mandala appeared. This one is all free-hand, no tools (like the compass, ruler etc) so a surprising creation for me! The colouring was also lots of fun; the art pens can be “washed” into a watercolour effect, and the colours swirled into each other, and then some details were added with paints. Wild and vibrant! / Passionate and fun! AFTER THE STORM
Rachel is a tremendous force of Artistic originality and she is so very helpful in our RB community. Approachable and friendly, her work is eclectic, as she utilizes many different mediums.
RACHEL.. Rachel…. She is a mom of 3 Teen children an editor for a busy publication and feels like she desires much more time for her ART TIME. She feels Art is who she BE.
This kind of energy translates into her work and her life here at RB. What an incredible artist!

With her formal qualifications = arts degree and diploma in fine arts, she has since the 90’s been working in Photoshop and advanced photography.

I asked Rachel: WHAT BRINGS YOU THE MOST PLEASURE WHEN SHOOTING?
–I think the answer is shooting itself! I just disappear into a reverie with the camera. Whether it is macro rockpools or sweeping skies and seagulls (last shooting was a family weekend at the beach – and my son loves photography too!) – I feel so calm and satisfied taking pictures_.
