Star Twister is a 250 word (or less) story challenge held each week on a given prompt provided. Each month all the weekly winners will go into a grand monthly final which all members will vote upon. The monthly winner will receive an amazon gift voucher to the value of US$10. Details of the monthly vote will be posted and bmailed to all members at the time. This week’s challenge will be the second opportunity to qualify for the June final!

A link to your story needs to be posted here in this thread by midnight Tuesday 17 June (BST).

Only those who have entered a story will be eligible to vote. The voting will require you to name your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices. Each 1st will be awarded 5 pts, 2nd will be awarded 3pts and 3rd will be awarded 1point. The story with the most points will be the winner. All entrants must vote. Failure to vote will disqualify that entrants story from the final scores. Entrants who comment on every story will receive a bonus point towards their final score in the event of a tie.

There is no limit to the number of entries members may submit. However, entrants may only vote once and are may not vote for their own entry.

The voting period for this week’s challenge begins from Midnight (BST) Tuesday 17 June to Midnight (BST) Thursday 18 June. The winner will be announced on Friday 19 June and the new Star Twister Challenge prompt will be announced on Sunday 21 June.

Hot off the press here are the results of the Star Twister Jury!

In third place with 17 points was Zolton’s Pod People

In second place with 21 points … only missing out by the slightest hair… was Paul Rees-Jones with The Interview

Congratulations to Daren on this win, in what was a very close competition. The lead changed hands a couple of times, but the rest of us finished a little way behind the three runaway leaders.

One thing worth considering: when you are submitting multiple entries; you run the risk of splitting your votes. That did happen to one entrant, who ended up being 6th instead of being joint 5th!

So Daren it’s up to come up with the next prompt!
