Carousel horses are waiting to come to life, as soon as the people leave and the turn table stops! In the dark of night, by the light of the stars and the moon, they romp across the prairies. This is one of those horses, who’s waiting for the magic moment. He was painted in my Vaughn, Montana studio. I created him by using many layers of watercolor paint (Winsor and Newton) on stretched canvas. / —-—-—-—-—-—— / Featured in Traditional Equine Art: Horses, Ponies and Unicorns! / 10/09 / Thank you!

An original pastel painting. Original artwork size- 45cm x 67cm. 2007 It seems the larger the animal, the more docile and appealing they are. What would the world be without these magnificent creatures…...great and small! / These two are probably old enough to start training as a team in harness. / Sold at exhibition :) Has been featured in ‘Everything Draft Horse’, ‘Equine Art and Photography’, Traditional Equine Art’ and ‘All Pets Great and Small’ groups.
My first love is the painting of horses…this is another vintage piece ( painted at least 25 years ago)... that I discovered on a visit during my trip back to Colorado. / Again the photography does not do the art any justice but it is still fun for me to see these old works have a second life as I add to my collection here at RB. / When we had our ranch in Colorado, I would sit out in our pasture, in my lawn chair and sketch our horses…I’d wait until they were far away and then I would rattle the Sweet-Mix bucket…then photograph and sketch them running to me! / This piece is painted with oil on self stretched artist linen canvas and is 24”X 28” unframed. / Thanks for viewing my art.
Acrylic on Canvas 60×80 cm
There are a couple of little girls in our family, who are into Pink! They won’t wear anything if it isn’t pink, they like pink bedrooms, and pink toys and pink clothes! I created this horse, thinking of all the little girls in the world, who like pink, and like horses! This way, they can have the best of both worlds, the horse and the pink… They’re in the pink of things! The original painting, was done in acrylic, on gessoed mdf board. 16X20 in size. Pretty in Pink was featured in the Patchwork group, 7/09! Thank you!

Acrylic on stretched canvas 6” x 4” / 26/10/09 This is for a friend who is having a birthday today. / I painted this yesterday to give to her as a present as she loves butterflies & they often seem to be / around her. As she was also a horse owner at one time I know she will love this. Inspiration also from Skyhorse’s new Appaloosa colt born last week & a trip up the coast earlier this / year to the Butterfly House at Coffs Harbour, NSW.
Ink fineliner on paper, October 2009. Most of my horse drawings are inspired by Arabian horses. This horse turned into a unicorn – then I decorated it with gum flowers, gum leaves and wattle blossoms – all of which are in full bloom in our local area during October.
