Antique lawnmowers on display at a museum in Stettler, Alberta, Canada, July 2008. It’s amazing that, living in that town for 24 years, I had only visited the museum 3 times. My camera gave me a whole new perspective on prairie history. “Manual Mower” was featured in Olympus and Four Thirds / FEATURED in the TOOLS GROUP!! A single exposure. No HDR!

This image has been done for the Challenge I have set in the Tools Group i help to host. Challenge is Points and Ends of everyday tools we use. / So I took some images of things this morning and this I liked the best. No need to comment as for a challenge Nikon D90 and Nikor 18-105vr lens / Focal length 105mm / F/. 5.6 / Exposure 1/60th / ISo 1/600 Natural light, hand held, aperture priority, slight tweak in photshop CS2 for levels .
I painted this as a tribute to Valentine’s day. I thought I would add a twist. This is essentially an upside down heart. The locks are attached to each other in what I am portraying as a loving embrace. The keys to the success of their relationship are readily accessible and visible to all. It is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The textures of this amazing paper accentuate the heavy granulation characteristics of the paint in interesting ways. The original piece is 7”x5” in size. /
Quite unique tools for creating paper and material flowers for decorating hats etc. The different tips are used for different effects. eg, stretching, rounding, scoring, folding of mainly tissue paper to create amazingly life like petals and leaves. I have not used them in ages but they have their place looking interesting in an old chinese vase. / The photo was taken using a Canon EOS400D and was given a slightly polerized treatment to add to the abstract effect.
Cold steel and sharp edges, but oh, what curves!... :-) [Sony a350, Sigma 105, f:20, 15 sec, EV -1.3, Tweaks in Lightroom 3beta]
Assemblage / / / Blue shock box 1. / Blue shock box 2. nearly complete. Blue Azure Diamond sound. / Eyes burst open wide to yawn / In perfect crystal azure dawn, / And sunlight make prismic facade / For summer trees shaped with myriad braids, / To voice over streams chattering schemes / Shapes all breeze to path and follow / With clouds dancing over phantom hollow. Leaden bird a song or cry / To mate in cloud on high / Point’s away scarecrow seen / Where summertime already been.. / Milking time cow egad / With gentle hoof pasture had / Leaves in tail driving rod / To vex his horns on devils God / Number plate ear part of a scenery / Frankenhoff Florist to farm creamery. Sky above purple dessert like gown / Stir all life through wooden town / Shrines a moon to ponder and wed / All dreams of folk asleep in bed. / Owl and fox who snap their feasts / Planetary eyes cur for more beasts. / Morning calls to everyone again / And old sleeping dog with no shame / Leaves his bed keen for sniff on same old ground / Over green azure blue diamond sound. / Image: Nawroski 2009. / Poem; Nawroski 2009.
