What better place to capture a Canadian sunrise than Canoe Lake, Muskoka? I shot this in September 2005, after setting out for the town of Huntsville at about 3.30 in the morning. I did the long drive simply because I wanted to shoot sunrise at Algonquin Provincial Park, which comprises more than 76,000 hectares of forests, lakes, and rivers. Muskoka inspired me in many ways. Not least because it features prominently in my next novel, to be released shortly by Penguin. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. This was shot on film, using a Canon EOS 3000. Featured in ALL THINGS IN THE NATURAL WORLD, October 2009. Featured in TOO BRIGHT, October 2009. Canada05-Algonquin-ABB033

Pt. Vincente fishing access Palos Verdes CA, trying to catch the light coming through the water by getting under the waves and shooting up, my camera and lens weren’t happy with all the salt spray, I didn’t mind the wet shoes waiting for the right picture. Photo is taken as is with my Nikon D300 Tokina 10-17mm lens with circular polarizer lens.

Taken underwater in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, this is a view through ‘Snells Window’. It is a strange effect you get underwater when you look up through an-almost circle. When the water is calm the view in the circle is what is reflected from the surface above and around you. Taken with Nikon D300 in Subal Housing & tokina 10-17 lens Available to purchase worldwide: This was Featured in OUTSIDE THE BOX! and ’ Too Bright ‘ Stay in touch Subscribe to Muzys Art Feed
