This was taken at night at a local carnival with my Canon DSLR mounted on a tripod with a cable release to trip the shutter and my telephoto zoomed to 300mm. The ISO was set at 100 and the aperture was closed down to 20 and the exposure speed was a second. This was created as assignment one in Tom Ang’s Master Class.
Assignment 1 of Tom Ang’s masterclass. I don’t actually live in the city, so I thought I would try my luck down at the local park. Focal length: 50mm / Aperture: F/10 / Exposure: 10 sec / ISO: 100

Okay, okay…I could not decide which picture I should use for this first assignment. LOL! I was driving with my camera on top of my steering wheel. The shot came out pretty good considering the driving conditions. I would like your opinion.
Happy Fourth of July! / My first attempt at fire works. / Nikon D50 / Tamron 28mm- 300mm lens / 3 second exposure / tripod / remote release / and brave neighbors. ... / sure was happy to be able to practice right out the back door.
No need to comment.. Up loaded this for a group. I have been trying for a few weeks to come up with a night shot for my first lesson in Tom Ang’s Digital Photography Master class But there is not much action here in Currituck, and if it is, its too windy. Volunteered at the the ball field tonight and had a chance to take this leaving the school. Taken with Nikon d50, tamron 28mm-300mm Shutter priority 3 second exposure. No edits as this is for a learning. All suggestions welcome.. this was my first try.
Assignment 3 / Digital Photography Masterclass / I don’t think I did this assignment well. What I should have been going for was having over or under exposed areas in the frame, showing a high dynamic range. Although the highlights are not completely blown out on this picture, they are pretty high key. I was shooting specifically for the assignment though and this was the best I got. / Everything looks quite scenic and a little over exposed in the light areas of the landscape until you get to the bright shirts of the subjects, which offers a stark contrast to the pastels of the rest of the scene. / This was taken 5/26/09 at North Myrtle Beach, SC facing south showing the skyline of Myrtle Beach. / RAW processed in Canon’s Digital Photo Pro only. No other editing or crop.
In this group we will follow the lessons from the book and post our assignments for critique.
