A view of the vast ship that is the Carnival Miracle. We were on our way to the Caribbean sea!
Had to cancel the first upload of this image as it was too brand oriented, so I made a few minor changes. Image was taken at Cosumel, Mexico with my Nikon Coolpix P80 camera. @300 mm lens

When the ocean liner Queen Mary 2 made her initial call at Halifax,Nova Scotia, in 2004, Theodore Too was standing by to help out if needed! If fact, TT is usually on hand to help anyone and anything that may need it. Some years ago, a TV writer decided to produce a local TV children’s show about a tugboat on a harbour, who talked to other tugboats and ships. The show, (Theodore Tugboat)) gained a great deal of popularity,at one time being aired in 80 countries, including PBS in the USA. So much so, that it was decided to create a real Theodore and add the “Too”. Since then, the tug has been a major attraction on Halifax Harbour. There is a wonderful and very complete story behind this, so take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Tugboat, and spend a few minutes to appreciate the work that went into a / charming children’s show and why it was so popular. By the way, The Queen Mary 2 docked by herself! September 25, 2004

Sometimes you need the freedom to choose your own illusion when you are spending time in your own magic place. This reflection of the waves was taken from the railing of a cruise ship. Following a military deployment my wife and I took a cruise to the Caribbean. We went all out and got a room with a balcony and I found myself spending a lot of time with a Margarita in my hand enjoying the ocean colors and the beautiful scenery that passed by. It was a striking change from the Middle East. In fact, one can say that it was a refreshing change from the tan tones of the desert. The desert has its own beauty but I love the ocean. As I was leaning on the balcony enjoying the view I happened to gaze down and notice the beautiful reflection of the waves in the Plexiglas below the railing. The reflection was amazing. But I found that I had to really lean forward over the railing to get a shot that looked right without showing myself, the railing or something else undesirable in it. In fact, I learned from this shot to let some shots go if they are just too stupid to try to get. I learned to pay as much attention to my own safety as I do to getting the shot! I really don’t have any ambition to be on the 6 pm news…with a film at 11 talking about the stupid American who plummeted off of something while trying to take a beautiful photo. This includes any activities and shore excursions taken on the cruise.
