Lilly told me that Beatrix, the queen of the Netherlands, has one of her paintings!!

Before I knew it, we had agreed that a great way to celebrate my birthday would be the opening of my own exhibition, with 65 paintings to celebrate my 65th birthday, on October 8, 2008.

She’d been sent out to meet my father, in the 1930s …and stayed together for three quarters of a century.
