I do have a thing for old jukebox clubs that drips with sweat and heartbreak….one of my many weird things.
communication / be it verbal, physical, or emotional / is how we express our love, / yet we are fettered by our fragility / as human beings living our human experience. / our search for happiness / and our aversion to suffering / taints our ability to be truly there for others. / love in all its glory / pains us deeply…
Each Who Sings Now? poem I have written is inspired by a Teacher found in Nature; a tree, star, animal, stone, etc. from which we can learn so many priceless lessons… if we only take the time to listen. Many people enjoy trying to guess which Teacher inspired the poem before going on to read about them in detail. Can you guess who is singing?
A true story….
I write this due to an e mail I recently received about prejudice both having to do with hatred of Jews and blacks. I was appalled by this email and had to speak out, this was my reply to them

I’m dealing with some depression in the best way I know: to let it out, give it its head, and let it tire itself out so I can move on.

Son my youngest babe, / Cords you remembered to play / Songs you wrote of a broken heart / Mom was there from the start. Your sight is fading, your soul is strong / Music fills your insides all day long / Play a little, pick the strings, this vision of you / Plucks my heart strings. You pick and glide the ivory’s / Each chord or note you learned by ear / Eyes are not what they use to be / But I hear your song, each and every year. I can sit for hours as your mom / Be proud of how you have come along / Your long fingers pick sweet strings / I can’t sit still want to sing. Your sight will get weaker / Your heart will stay strong / Words will come from your soul / You know it won’t be long. Your sight will go with this disease / Your ears will bring you notes you will hear / Memorize and mimic what you hold dear / Pick up your guitar if it makes you at ease. / FEATURED IN-THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT-group-12/02/09 this was inspired by a fellow bubbler with an existing eye disease like my son suffers from,, so I went into photos, this is my son,, 23 and loosing his sight, but his heart is strong and music fills his life.. 12/02/09
When all the children are gone and grown up, the earth around us gets much more quiet. When the children are all gone, / we still hear their laughter…. etched in our minds. When all the children are gone.
