About This Group

ABOUT US

There are many groups that tend to focus on the technical importance of the shot, that go for cutesy shots of children, immaculate macros of raindrops or amazing landscape shots taken with extra wide and expensive lenses and edited with equally expensive software.

We would like this group to get back to the heart of photography and are looking for photos that: (1) have a retro feel, (2) convey a personal emotional connection to the subject, and (3) are firmly placed within ordinary, day to day life. Remember the days when photographs had grain and faded colours? We want to recapture that feeling of the unaltered and spontaneous shot without any manipulation except for basic adjustments to colour and light. Give us grain, lots of grain and the feeling of that 70’s shot….

-If you are one of those clever people who knew how to use a camera before the digital era you are most vehemently welcome.
