Stunning Scenery ‘Favorites’

Group Rules:

NO BAD WEATHER PHOTOS THANKS!

We have no daily limits or total limits, so feel free to swamp us with as many quality photos as you wish!

If people have ‘favorited’ your scenery photos, then we want you to send that photo into the group – that’s all we are looking for – photos of your scenery that have been favorited by other people and if the hosts feel that your photo is one that the hosts would favorite themselves, then your photo will be accepted! Don’t confuse ‘favorites’ with ‘featured’ although we understand your photo most probably could have been featured as well. We also accept panoramas – the panorama can be 2:1 to 5:1.

For the purpose of this group, we’ll consider scenery consisting of landscapes, seascapes, mountainscapes and cityscapes. Colour photos only thanks.

Of course, we’ll have no way of knowing if your photo has been favorited or not, but we will believe that it has been. You don’t have to tell us how many times it has been favorited and we are happy to look at the comments on the photo.

If the hosts feel that your photo is one that the hosts would favorite themselves, then your photo will be accepted. If the hosts feel that they wouldn’t favorite the photo themselves, then it will be rejected.

When we have a challenge, any photos submitted to the challenge that have not been accepted into the group beforehand, will be removed from the challenge.

As we have members from different parts of the world, please put the location in the description line, where the photo was taken; e.g. ‘Paris’ or if you haven’t a clue where you were – ‘France’ will do!

The following are reasons why your photo may have been rejected:

We don’t accept close ups, macros, birds, animals, flowers, insects, cemeteries, collages or anything else except photos of scenery. People are only considered if they are part of the overall ‘scene’ and we won’t be accepting ‘people shots’ as in ‘posed people shots’. We will consider some action shots of people playing sport etc if the photo is extremely good, eg: surfies, skiers and rodeos etc.

Photos across land or water that end in a flat horizon, including sunsets, and/or photos showing the horizon anywhere near the centre of the photo have a 99.9% chance of not being accepted. If you have used framing and composition to improve the look of the photo, it may be considered.

We won’t accept photos if they are over-processed or over-manipulated or if the colours look unnatural or if the colours look ‘washed out’. B&W are not accepted.

If they have had any elements added and ‘faked up’ using a PC program like Photo Shop etc, including text, borders, layers & the Orton Effect etc.

If the sun is visible or if there is any sun flare visible in the photo.

If the photo was taken in poor light.

If you have sent similiar photos of the same scene previously

Photos will not be accepted if the photo is not of interest to the general public.

As you wouldn’t be happy buying inferior goods in a shop, and as you are trying to sell the photos online that you display here, we’ll only display photos in this group that are of a high standard.

Please remember, what decides if your photo is accepted or not into the group is whether the hosts would favorite your photo themselves, so you are at the mercy of the hosts – we’d prefer you to be selective in what you send in, as poor focus or poor lighting or poor framing etc or poor anything, are not what we are looking for.

Please also remember, the name of the group is ‘Stunning Scenery Favorites’ and not ‘Ordinary Scenery Favorites’ – so we are looking for ‘something special’ that made other people want to favorite your photo in the first place – it could be the scene, it could be your framing or it could be the lighting, but something has set it apart from other photos to make people notice it, and favorite it.

If you cannot find the reason why your photo was rejected, in the above rules, feel free to BM me please (PhotosByG) and I’ll happily provide you with the reason why your photo was not accepted.

Thank you,
Graham.
