A still-life is an arrangement of objects purposefully manipulated to achieve a desired effect. The photographer chooses the background, setting, lighting and composition. He or she chooses the object(s) that inhabit the scene, as well as the mood and tone of the image. Still life is photography that has been deliberately posed by the artist. It is not landscapes, not portraiture, and not anything moving. Macro works are accepted if the objects are identifiable.
This group applies as broad a definition to “still life” as possible, and accepts outdoor works with natural backgrounds, even if the objects are very large.
Please follow the group rules and most of all, get creative!
