Seasons! 'Natures Palette'

Group Rules:

Country landscapes, showing the brilliant colours of autumn, winter and spring, with the colours of the season being the main subject in the photo. No individual flowers or close ups of flowers please – landscapes only thanks, but we will take close ups of leaves if they are showing autumn colours.

We’ll accept landscape photography, showing the brilliant colours of autumn, winter and spring.

NO BAD WEATHER PHOTOS THANKS – WE WANT TO SEE THE COLOUR AT ITS BEST – also, if it looks like B&W, it won’t be accepted!

We have no daily limits or total limits, so feel free to swamp us with as many quality photos as you wish!

For the purpose of this group, we’ll consider scenic photos consisting of country landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, creeks and mountains etc, showing the colours of autumn, winter and spring. We’ll also accept shots of trees and leaves if they are showing off the beauty of the season, but not mouldy leaves.

We also accept panoramas – the panorama can be 2:1 to 5:1

Colour photos only thanks.

When we have a challenge, any photos submitted to the challenge that have not been accepted into the group beforehand, will be removed from the challenge.

As we have members from different parts of the world, please put the location in the description line, where the photo was taken; e.g. ‘Cunninghams Gap’ or if you haven’t a clue where you were – ‘Queensland’ will do!

The following are reasons why your photo may have been rejected:

If your photo doesn’t show the brilliant colours of the season as the main subject in the photo – eg: we’ll only accept photos where the main colours of the photo let us see it is autumn, winter or spring. The colours have to be the main subject in the photo – not the mountain range 3 miles off in the distance – we’re more interested in the colour in the foreground.

We don’t accept close ups, macros, sunrise, sunsets, silhouettes, birds, people, animals, flowers, insects, photos of the sky with no land, cemeteries, buildings, towns, farm machinery, collages or anything else except photos of country scenery. Man made objects have to be kept to the bare minimum and are restricted to roads, tracks & bridges for trekkers etc, fences and seats. No coastal shots thanks as we are after ‘the colours of autumn, winter and spring’.

Photos across land, or lakes, that end in a flat horizon, and/or photos showing the horizon anywhere near the centre of the photo have a 99.9% chance of not being accepted. If you have used framing and composition to improve the look of the photo, it may be considered.

We won’t accept photos if they are over-processed or over-manipulated or if the colours look unnatural or if the colours look ‘washed out’. B&W & sepia are not accepted.

If they have had any elements added and ‘faked up’ using a PC program like Photo Shop etc, including text, borders, layers & the Orton Effect etc.

If the sun is visible or if there is any sun flare visible in the photo.

If the photo was taken in poor light.

If you have sent similiar photos of the same scene previously

Photos will not be accepted if the photo is not of interest to the general public.

As you wouldn’t be happy buying inferior goods in a shop, and as you are trying to sell the photos online that you display here, we’ll only display photos in this group that are of a high standard.

Re-submitting photos that have previously been rejected can result in your removal from the group, as will members with a high rejection rate.

If you cannot find the reason why your photo was rejected, in the above rules, feel free to BM me please (PhotosByG) and I’ll reply with one of the 4 reasons that RB provide to hosts as to why your work was not accepted. Put a link to your work in the BM as well please.

Thank you,
Graham.
