Challenge Winner / Mans best friend’s (It’s winter time) 5th place in What makes ME happy in the group Who ARE you to Judge? Featured in / Speed / Mans Best Friend’s (Dogs only) / Cats and Dogs (1 per day) My Irish Setter (Tallow) having fun in the snow in order to get this shot I had to walk my dog knee deep in the orchard, have him sit and then retrace my steps on the way back. I did this so that when I took the photo you wouldn’t see my footsteps in front of Tallow (my dog). I did this 3 times and then ran out of orchard. This was the best of about 50 shots. I guess I should have planned ahead and shot at a different angle so that the trees weren’t shown behind him Challenge Winner Mans best friend’s (It’s winter time) / Top 10 in Pet’s in Action (Paws N Claws group) this shot was featured in Speed, Man’s best friend, and in Cat’s and Dogs

I JUST REALIZED THAT THE FIRST PHOTO ART IMAGE OF THIS SEAGULL, WAS THE WRONG ONE. ACTUALLY, I REALIZED IT WHEN I UPLOADED IT AND THE BUBBLE TOLD ME IT WAS TOO SMALL FOR EVEN A CARD. IT’S JUST TAKEN ME A WHILE TO GET BACK TO IT TO CORRECT THE FLUBBER. I DID SOME DIGITAL DARKROOM WORK TO THIS IMAGE OF THE SEAGULL NAMED CHARLIE TO TRY AND BRING OUT THE BIRD A LITTLE BETTER. I THINK IT WORKED, IN THAT I CAN SEE THE SEAGULL BETTER, BUT IN RETROSPECT, THE IMAGE DOESN’T LOOK PHOTO QUALITY ANYMORE. NOW IT LOOKS MORE PAINTED OR DRAWN, BUT THAT’S OK TOO, BECAUSE THAT PUTS IT IN THE CATAGORY OF PHOTO ART. I’VE NEVER BEEN VERY GOOD WITH PENCILS OR PAINTS OR CHALKS, BUT WITH A CAMERA LIKE THE CANON EOS 620 AND NOW THE NEWER CANON EOS KISS REBEL, IT’S EASY FOR ME TO FIND ART IN ORDINARY IMAGES. THIS ONE IS FILED LARGE ENOUGH TO DO A POSTER, I HOPE.
It’s like a photo, but it moves. :)

Kirra this size does not happen often and when it does it doesn’t loose any of its heaviness. This guy is looking down the line because he knows he cant take in this moment and needs to get moving once it hits the bank. / If you put your finger over the surfer you can imagine yourself on a fun 3-4ft wave.

Playing with Photoshop CS2’s vast filter and tool options, I basically just experimented until I came up with something I liked. It must appeal to the wilder side of my nature. Believe it or not, this used to be a very simple backyard image of some ornamental ribbon grass, now it looks like a psychedelic image from the 1960’s.
A close-up view of a lighted chandelier, with beveled and etched blue and clear glass. The original image had many light reflections inherent in it. The image was then heavily enhanced digitally, including this striking “zoom effect” via Photoshop CS2.
The family Christmas tree in a darkened living room with the lights on. There is also an illuminated ceramic village underneath the tree. Of course, it’s hard to tell after the “extrude” filter from Photoshop CS2 has been applied. But you can make out the shape of the tree, the larger lighted village beneath and the curtains on the window in the background. The contrast and saturation were also enhanced. Uniquely beautiful. Not your eveyday Christmas tree photo.
Photography that clearly shows movement and speed.
