The Ship Who Sang The Ship Who Sang (1961) is a short story by science fiction author Anne McCaffrey about the brainship Helva. If you have not heard about Helva, or not read the story, Read It Here NOW Our competition today is something special. It will run for FOUR WEEKS ending on 19 August 2008 RULES 1. One image per competition. You may enter one then change your mind BUT you must take off the tag from the original and replace it on the new one. 2. Entries MUST use the tagline you are given for that contest, in this case space2008sings 3. All entries must be in BEFORE the closing time or will be refused admittance until after all voting ended. 4 All entries must be in line with the GROUP RULES no matter what the title of the contest. 5 As all members vote, hosts may enter, but not vote…(I will NOT be entering) PRIZES 1 x US$20 Voucher As always GOOD LUCK EVERYONE If you have any questions please BubbleMail me. I want to say this also, I thought a contest was about having fun in this group and about art. When you censorize images for no good reason, that feeling is a bit gone, I would say! |

Thank you Arie…..I really appreciate this….but Alien Visitor is the moderator and so his decision is the final one. I would have loved to participate in this contest as I really enjoyed making this image…..but I am sure the rules are the issue here. But thank you for the vote :o) |

Hi Arie… I totally agree that sal’s image was awesome… I did see it…. She knows I loved it too ;) … However the rules do stipulate that the rules of the group applied here and it really didnt fit into the guidelines of the group itself even if it was perfect for the contest. We really had to be strict as there were real prizes involved and it isnt fair to allow one image in that we wouldnt have allowed from someone else. Sal knows full well that I adore her images totally, and I have another bigger competition taking place on my own site on the 7th and I am hoping she, and ALL of you will take part in that !! The games are fun.. yes… but also when it comes to a contest some rules do need to be applied. |

Hi Angel…..I think this is where I am confused about my work being rejected. It says here in the rules, alien creatures, and the Stellar unkown are also welcome and if my work is not an alien then I don’t know what is :o) I do think it was a bit of nit-picking by AV. But thank you Arie and Navybrat for seeing what I saw xx |

SPACE images…. all images must be of and in space not fantasy… I have removed the bit that is misleading and am showing here what was written below… SPACE SCENES means that the images <b>must be of space</b>. Astronomical photography is also permitted ONLY if no part of a planet surface that you are on is showing within the photograph. This is easily done with telescopes etc I will also add that this is the last contest this group will be holding…. Good luck to all entrants !! |
