Artists and Works of Note

Richard Sunderland is an artist and teacher, residing in Plymouth, England. While Richard prefers oils and watercolors, River Plym 1 is in acrylic. Even after 30 years, the love of and fresh approaches, yet distinctive brush strokes is evident in his landscapes. I’ve found Richard to be an avid new Red Bubbler, who has discovered the addiction here that draws us all in and holds us fast. Please join me in welcoming Richard to Red Bubble and Solo Exhibition.

Christian Zammit photos of Chiara are models of light and loveliness. It’s true that not all beautiful women make beautiful photographs. It does take a photographer of skill to result in images like this one of Chiara. Zammit, residing in Malta, also has a terrific “London Series” worth a visit.

Rakesh Syal is at the top of his game, with over 1500 acceptances & more than 300 awards in National & International photographic competitions and an IIPC Platinum Exhibitor Award. You would think by this time, he might retire, or “coast”. But with such works as SPRING TIME, and MAGIC WITH BLACK, you get a sense that Syal is exploring art with a new eye. Notice the lack of harsh shadows on the naturally lit THE CRYSTAL DECANTER. Perfection, isn’t it?

Brigitte Hintner, a.k.a. GittiArt has been drawing since she was 8 years old, inspired and taught by her father. With dozens of shows in her native Australia, and internationally, Brigitte’s professionalism is apparent in her works on paper and canvas. Her color and line are indisputably her own. Hintner’s Passionate Dancers is a great example of her ability to capture not just movement but spirit and passion in her artworks.

Maria Szollosi, or Mariska, as her friends know her, is from Hungary. A major in fashion and textile design may have prepared her a little for her recent foray into digital art. Mariska’s paintings are romantic, feminine, and evocative. One cannot help but stare at her artwork looking at all the corners, the hair, textures, floating things, and faded colors. Everything works to perfection. Fall in Love is no exception. And then feast your eyes on Virgo

dglane64, from the Southern United States, has recently taken up photography, after working in a traditional setting. You would think she had been shooting, or possibly, filming all her life. At least that’s the feel I get from her vintage 50’s-style shots along a railway. One of my favorites is Point of view, where I conjure up a young Paul Newman.

Robbie Graham, from Australia, another one to watch, paints Australian wildlife in gouache and acrylics. A self-professed “amateur”, don’t let the word fool you. If you love wildlife, you will enjoy exploring Graham’s impressive portfolio. Here are just two beguiling works: Broken Silence and Always Alert.

Format better or you like the featured works better (or how they are shown, better, which goes back to format)?

I left out two important sections from this issue, due to time constraints. Why am I admitting that? ;)

However, I believe that I’ve settled on a format that is finally fully developed with this issue.

Thanks for your input.
