A snowy Snowy
by Jim Cumming

Photographic Art
Location: Ste-Rose, Ontario, Canada area
Handheld
Canon 40D
Canon 300 2.8 IS lens
1/4000
f 4.5
ISO 200

I’ve been trying to find and photograph this Snowy owl for over a month but without success. On my 5th trip to an area about an hour outside of Ottawa I finally spotted him and spent about 5 hours following him around an area covering about 3 square miles. Standing in the middle of an open field with the wind howling in your face and temperatures hovering around -10 with windchill of -20 was well worth it.
Taken in Ste-Rose, Ontario, Canada area

Location: Kelsey Park, Beckenham, Kent, England, UK
Central part of an original file shot from some distance away.

ISO 400, 1/2500 sec, f5.6

The title makes the heron look like the villain. In fact the opposite is true.
I stood watching this heron for over an hour. The sun was really low and everything else was almost dark but for a shaft of light which seemed to have the heron in its clutches. It had been fishing on this spot for over half an hour when the geese barged in and disturbed him.

by Rachel Ireland-Meyers

Traditional Art
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas. 40" (W) x 60" (H)

This painting is one of my favourites, however it now resides in Japan. I have a deep love for Peacocks, probably due to having grown up with them as a child, and I often refer to them as nature’s supermodel’s.

So Why Don't You Come Up And See Me Sometime
by Dave Cauchi

Photographic Art

This is a gang-Gang Cockatoo taken at Healesville Sanctuary, Victoria, Australia. I was walking through one of the aviaries and the top of my head just brushed its tail feathers. I didn’t even see it above me. I slowly moved back and started shooting while looking at me.
