Solo’s 14th Juried Invitational Exhibition
Solo’s 14th Juried Invitational Exhibition features traditional art and its re-interpretation in traditional mediums The collaborators were active in a workshop setting for 4 weeks. During that time, the following events took place:
Here, we at last arrive at SoJie 14, the exhibition hall, itself. SoJie 14 is the golden carrot, the goal of the SoJie 14 workshop. The journey to get here was fantastic. Participants are proud to announce that all basis works in the catalog were successfully translated at least once. Translated works are shown just below the Originating work, from which they took inspiration, or to which they pay homage. You may see as many as three translations below the originating collaborator – one in each of the main categories (Traditional, Photographic, and Digital). Some artists and photographers translated major elements literally. Others took inspiration, while still maintaining a tie to the emotion, the style, the composition, or their interpration of the meaning of the originating work. The approaches were as varied as the artists and photographers participating, which makes for a sensually rich, eclectic mix of art in the show.
