SoJie 14 Green Room

Party place for SoJie 14 exhibitors, friends, and family

Web Ring is up!

Use the select menu to find your name and select it. Copy the custom code that pops in the box which is just for you and contains your linked images in the show.

  1. Add a title to a new journal (and don’t change the title)
  2. post the copied text into your journal and save.
  3. don’t put anything above the table of images, as that will mess up the special RB formatting and you’ll break the table.

If you want to add something, consider adding it into the first comment before you go live.

  1. Once your journal is saved make sure you are looking at (VIEW) and then click the graphic button that you see.
  2. That click puts you in the ring!
  3. When you click the first time, you will arrive at the head of the ring – Frannie’s journal.
  4. Click that ring and you’ll be at the next journal.
  5. The journal grows in size from the tail (your journal if you were the last to join)
  6. Get in early and go around several times
  7. If you get in late, you’ll be lucky to get around once!
  8. Have fun. This is all about promoting your show.

I’ve posted one too. Since this is the first time for me I hope it was ok the way I did. This is exciting.

F.A. Moore F.A. Moore 26345 posts

I’ve reposted it with the special version of the Easy Button. Everything looks great Sue and Claudia!

Thank you! I only noticed the special Easy Button afterwards. I’ll have to learn so much here but am really excited about it.

We were cross posting Claudia. I was posting that as you were posting your piece. It’s okay.

I already have a possible offer, depending on the media of translation – VERY excited!

I have a question, though – because we submitted, is that it for the traditional artists? Are we allowed to do a translation, as well, or do we each keep to our special areas of interest? Either way is fine, I was just curious. :)

I’m not saying what the translations will be yet.

Please don’t verbally accept any offers yet. That’s very unfair to all of the other artists, as we’re not even close to the time for making offers.

lilynoelle lilynoelle 714 posts

Oh, no there’s nothing formal. Just an interest, which made me happy. I would never make out anything formal until the offers were all out and everyone was in the midst of making them. I didn’t mean it that way …

Hi All,

This is fun being allowed to be the ones providing the subject for the translating. I would like to be involved on the translating side too. My problem is that I’m leaving on Saturday for a week long kayaking trip to the High Sierras. I will be out of communication for most of that time so I was hoping to make some contact with an artist before I leave. Frannie, do you have any idea what the time line might be so I will have some idea when agreements go out to the artists. I also am posting this so than anyone wishing to translate my work should not be discouraged if they don’t get a reply immediately.
I will try to check in periodically, but when I was in Alaska last month the internet was elusive, expensive, or impossible to find.

Everyone’s work looks wonderful paired up in Sojie 12. Congratulations to all. Sally

Sally,
Frannie already put up the agreements for download – see page 1 of the workshop thread.
Hope you secure something quickly and have fun on your holiday

F.A. Moore F.A. Moore 26345 posts

Sally, the agreements are up for download (as of late last night) – oh, I see that Pnina has already responded. Thanks Pnina!!

Sally, if you want to give me say – “yay” or “nay” – on translating your work, I’m happy too. What I would do is to get the requesting ARTIST to sign and date the Agreement, and I would tag your work but not sign the agreement on your behalf.
I would then forward it to your bmail. That way, when you have a chance to log in, you will have the agreement sitting there, ready to
type in your signature and date.

In the meantime, I would tag your work so that it could be officially announced.

Let me know, if you’d like me to help out that way. Of course, the big deal is do you trust me in making decisions on translators?

Sally Sargent Sally Sargent 491 posts

Frannie, That would be terrific. I am not discriminate about who translates my work. all artists are equal in my eyes. Some of us have more training, but we all learn by doing. you have my permission to approve translations on a first come first serve basis. I will be interest to see how it plays out.
I plan to translate one too, but I will attempt to do that agreement myself. Thanks for babysitting me once again.

Thanks,
Sally

F.A. Moore F.A. Moore 26345 posts

Okay, Sally, so from Sat to Sat, I’ll cover for you, then. This is a fabulous work. Challenging to translate too. But someone will be up for it!

F.A. Moore F.A. Moore 26345 posts

Should you perhaps post below your Catalog post there, to send requests to me?
Then when you come back, it’s easy enough to delete the statement. That’s the most logical place to put it,
as normally an Artist would click on your avatar right there. So maybe bold it.

Make a statement Bold by surrounding it by Asterisks – one at the beginning and one at the end,
with no spaces between the first and last characters and the beginning and end asterisks.
