“Abstract Cup of Tea, paintings by Jay Taylor”

Scheduled Features:
Friday, May 6 – “Abstract Love, Non-hostile Take-over”
Saturday, May 7 – “Becoming…”
All week – Highlighting favorites from the portfolio

Jay Taylor’s abstract paintings explore the patterns of nature, and exploit the spontaneity of creation. Jay sees herself
as an explorer of other worlds, through “other eyes”, working with raw materials of word, music, art and nature.

A self-employed graphic and web designer, born in Manchester, England, Jay has traveled extensively and relishes
her own “very different” path, away from “imposed” limitations. She employs hands-on, self-learning techniques in
every facet of life, including art, and the upbringing of her child.

Imagine That…
by Jay Taylor

Jay Taylor describes her art as seeming to encompass
past, present, and future, through no intention.

During the process of creation, Jay says, she becomes
inseparable from her art.

Imagine That… is a sarcastic look at an ironic happenstance:
that the proceeds of the £44.95, limited edition £5
John Lennon tribute coin do not go to “the brotherhood of man”,
to erase hunger, but rather “to the Royal Mint, and the Crown”.

The collaged and acrylic, multi-media work, though small,
at 5 × 7 inches, looms large in perspective.

Solo Exhibition is proud to present Jay Taylor, in solo exhibition, starting May 2nd, with an Artist
Reception for the show, “Abstract Cup of Tea, paintings by Jay Taylor”.
