The Museum of Liptov Village was like a heaven to me! Great atmosphere of old good times, lot of photographic occasions, oasis of tranquility amidst lovely autumn landscape… Sometimes, I ask myself if people weren’t happier without all those phones and computers and cars and deadlines all around, but with a lot of time to smell the flowers or to cut some wooden ornaments on their houses… September 2008, Pribylina, the Slovak Republic. The legs and traditional red skirt of a twirling dancer at a festival in Zilina, Slovakia. This was the first time I had experimented with this type of shot and I was extremely happy to capture this. Sold: I entered this shot in a local exhibition in a 20×30 cm format framed similar to this: While setting up the exhibits, I actually sold the larger format (30×45 cm) unframed copy to one of the other exhibitors!
