I worked for a vet many years ago when a little kiten was brought in. Apparently she had been dumped in someone’s backyard. I took her home that evening and said to my horrified partner (we had 3 other pets already) “Don’t worry, she’s only staying the night”..... she stayed for 15 years! My friend saw the cat as an inconvenience he couldn’t be bothered with. But when he was left with the cat for four months, a bond formed that would last 13 years. The cat watched him read the paper every morning, resting his head on the man’s arm; and every evening sleeping on the man’s chest. So close they became that the man referred to the cat as his best friend, a friendship only shattered by death, but cherished forever in memory. / Passion: love that defies logic , reason, and precedent, changing the lives of those it touches forever.
