The Challenge

LEE-ANNE’S TOPIC:
For the next challenge, why don’t you show us the miracle of Mother Nature and some of her best tricks. We want to see animals who blend into their environment!
 The focus of this challenge is to show the * relationship between the animal and its habitat.*
While it is sometimes nice to have a vivid blue canvas or wicked bokeh to make an animal pop, it does nothing to distinguish wild animals from the captive. It is all of the background details which add reason to the image; a story to the photo and evokes emotion in the viewer . In human photography, this is why a Mursi tribe woman make sense in an Ethiopian setting and not before and Alaskan glacier. The background is what helps make the image worth a thousand words.
Perhaps you want to showcase camouflage or nesting; building or stalking; resting or playing… just make the connection obvious.
In Canada alone, 70% of the wetlands have disappeared. Lets show others why preserving a dead tree gives a house to an eagle. Lets put the wild back in wildlife.
