I have found the top widget and Facebook link tools very effective in gaining further exposure of my profile and site. The top ‘who’s among us’ widget allows you to track visitor frequency as often as hourly, also daily, monthly and yearly and their location on the world map including their URL. The Facebook links users to view and join my Joshua Hakman Photography page and become a fan of it. The Joshua Hakman Photography links viewers and users to my bubblesite, which also enables me to categorise and channel my images more professionally and separately to the general RB site. One more is below, which is Red Bubble’s share this work tool, which could be replicated with your own image, instead of the megaphone. Could be your logo for example.
Hi I really like journalling about my sales, for a number of reasons. Some people feel it’s akin to bragging and rather shallow, but there are different ways of going about a sales journal, so that they can also be interesting and newsy. One great benefit of a sales journal is that customers who are first time buyers actually get to see products that are selling, and it helps to create a feeling of trust between the artist, the buyer and the manufacturer of the goods. I think that’s really important. I know myself, that as a potential customer, i really look for this type of thing before committing to buy. What customer doesn’t want to see sales that have been successfully made prior to them purchasing something. Journalling and blogging about sales, also allows me to draw attention to some of my older works and it reminds me that art that you’ve done a while ago, can still be appreciated… new work is always important and to keep it fresh and maintain a high standard, but it’s so wonderful when someone buys your work, and it’s nice to celebrate that a little. It also reminds me, that series I did in the past, like the asia series, still has appeal…the more I dwell on it, the more inspired I become. Perhaps I think about doing another series of this type in the future…etc. I also enjoy the additional opportunity we sometimes get in these journals for a bit more interaction with each other, when we have the time. It’s also a way of saying thank you to the buyer who remains anonymous, as was the case this afternoon, when I noticed I had a few sales, and so i thought I’d mention them here, as it’s not possible to thank them personally: / thank you so much to the buyers of these greeting cards from my early Asia Series / thank you also to the buyers of the above Christmas Cards, a reminder of how close we are getting to the 25th of December!! yikes…! so sorry i haven’t been around much lately, there’s a lot going on my end, but i hope to be getting around to see your new works soon, i miss them and i miss you all… love karin ps… i dunno if it’s my imagination or not, but after a sales journal, usually more sales follow

The Rogue Gene Collective has been featured in a recent newsletter for professional associates of the UK Society for all artists. (‘All artists’ is mostly ‘painters’, but hey, I’ll take publicity anywhere, and most of the Rogue Gene Collective do paint – I’m the odd one out) The article is about the benefits for artists of belonging to such a group, and mentions two groups I’m involved with – the Rogue Gene Collective which I’m a member of, and art4essex – I host (and built) the websites for both of these. More details at SAA PA News – art collectives article Belonging to such groups gives more opportunities for publicity and shared exhibitions.

Do you have the "Add This" button on your artwork?… Because if you do, let me know in this journal…
Because if you do, let me know in this journal, as I’d love to promote you around the web on such sites as twitter, tumblr, del.icio.us and stumble. If you don’t have one and you’d like one, then go here to get yours. If you’d like to promote other artists on social networking sites, you might want to consider joining the Promote Each Other Group. :)

The Art/T-Shirt Club! Want your art sold? We all feel your pain but in these harder times we have to come together! So this is the best way we can do just that… / To join us in getting your art sold … You simply need to make a purchase, whether it’s a Card, T-Shirt or Wall-Art from anyone on Redbubble but after the first artist makes a purchase then all the following artists need to buy something from one of the artists who have made a purchase below! / You can also join by listing what you’ve bought in the past but for those / who haven’t bought anything please consider when you have the money to buy something from someone who has posted or buy something that they post. This way everyone will / get something sold! This is how I see it… / We shop in stores like Wal-Mart and the mall which are all run by millionaires and raise prices while under paying most of their workers. / So why always give your money to them when you can spend with the truly / creative people like on RB? You can post a comment to this but to join post something that you purchased from anyone on Redbubble but if someone’s posted already shop in their gallery and join our movement! Thanks to everyone who makes RB a great website to display and sell / on! Currently there are no purchases of someone who posted here, why not be the first? When you leave this message without favoriting it….Let the force be with you…because you’re on your own baby! :)
I’ve been running an image based blog on Selected Artworks for just over a year now (it doesn’t seem that long!) It was only intermittently updated in the early days, but I’m now trying to add at least 4 items per week, and this is resulting in a slow growth of viewing figures, and click through to the artists involved, and I know that at least one painting has been sold as a result of someone finding it through Selected Artworks The artists involved have all given their permission, either as members of the redbubble ‘promote each other’ group, as members of other groups I’m involved with or as a result of a specific request for permission. (and there’s the occasional image from me too ;) ) Recently promoted redbubble artists include / Marie Monroe / Sarah Moore / Sienna Morris / Faizan Qureshi
