Hi everyone

We’ve noticed a few images of just the sea or sea shore coming in.

That’s fine if they have a description that tells me how they relate to a Seachange eg they show village life, or living by the sea or have a story about how the image is about living away from the city and moving to the sea or about a dream of moving from the city to live by the sea.

But when they don’t we find it hard to fit them into the group.

It would help us and you if before you upload to the group you check to see whether your image fits the Group guidlines and if it does not in an obvious way, write a little description to show how it does.

Yes I agree with you. In the example you suggest its more a change in lifestyle than just a holiday.

I live in a small coastal town popular with tourists. It’s a holiday spot. But my motivation for being here is to make a lifestyle change and not just get a way for a weekend or even a week.

So I would not discourage anyone from posting an image that is of a holiday spot as long as it is about their lifestyle change, be it treechange or seachange.

I regard a sea-change or tree-change a holiday destination or place you might like to go for a change. In a caravan you have lots of tree-changes and sea-changes especially if you are a grey nomad travelling around Australia. It depends at how you look at it. Don’t you think. This is their sea-change as they’ve left their home behind.

This group is not about pictures of the sea or popular seaside holiday spots or cities.

If your work has been rejected then ask yourself whether your image made it clear it was about leaving behind a city or urban lifestyle and moving to a quieter coastal or rural lifestyle.

We hate rejecting work. But If we don’t get the above message either from looking at the image or reading the side panel then we will not accept it into the group.

If you have made the transition from cityor urban living to coastal or rural living then please post your images or stories relating to this move.

If you want to make that transition then please post your images or stories relating to your new coastal or rural lifestyle aspirations.

A seachange is not a holiday/vacation.

Hi

I am sorry but I have been very busy lately and did not police the latest Seachange avatar challenge very well.

The challenge conditions made it clear the image had to be one that was accepted into the Seachanges Group to be eligible. I think that’s only fair to the members of the group.

So, this months avatar is the image with the most votes which satisfied all the challenge criteria.
