~ WTF are you Wearing?! ~
You can read Sci-Fi ~ you can watch Sci-fi – you can write Sci-Fi – you can follow Sci-Fi. If you’re really a Sci Fi Geek, you also WEAR it! The more bizarre, the more obscure, the funnier ~ ~ the better.
(If you’re thinking, “Who would want to be a Sci Fi Geek?” this is probably not your thing).
This challenge is for Coolest Shirt Design! We have had shirt challenges before (a “plethora,” as Mr. Spock might say), but for this one, ANY Sci Fi qualifies, whether based on tribute art or concepts purely of your own. All entries must be SHIRT DESIGNS (no prints, posters, cards or i-phone covers, please.) The criteria is, make it Sci Fi ~ make it striking ~ make it clever ~ make it funny! Mash-ups more than welcome (just be sure the Sci Fi predominates).
Style and Approach are up to you, whether you submit a sketch, cartoon, portrait, silhouette, etc. but be sure your work is both creative and original. Single stills or photos copied from TV or directly from the internet, will be disqualified. Text alone is fine, but has to meet the challenge theme as well (ie, funny, clever, recognizable to Sci fi fans if no one else).
Work must be accepted in the group to qualify.
Older work is good ~ new is better yet.
All the usual group requirements apply.
Pick your faves! Vote more for more than one. Base your votes on creativity and quality of work. And look for the Geek Factor, most of all! (As in, “only fellow Sci Fi nerds would get that bit.”)
As always, No Soliciting of Votes! Any member caught padding the ballot box either via Bubblemail, Facebook or any other venue, will have their work removed. Let the entries win on merit, not popularity!
PLEASE VOTE! Reminders will be sent if possible.
Winner gets a Winner’s Banner, spotlight-feature on our Group Home Page and a Special Presentation in our Forum. You will also be inducted to our Hall of Fame (Featured Artists)!
The runners up (Top 10) also get a Banner and a mention in the Forum.
Please be sure your entry is accepted in the group by voting time!
Also, if you’re doing tribute art, please include your source in your description! Especially if it’s off the beaten track. Your hosts may be Geeks (!), but there is Sci Fi out there, even we may not have seen. If, between us, we don’t recognize your reference and you haven’t told us … you could be disqualified, and that we wouldn’t want.
We’re looking forward to your entries! Hope you have some fun with this!
