New Worlds, New Frontiers $20 voucher

The Challenge

What will life be like when we settle other planets?

Some ideas…

What sort of living quarters might they build?
Will they have familiar things (ie., restaurants, shops, etc)?
How might they get around?
Will they live in domes – underground – in the clouds – beneath the water – or on the surface where and when they can?
If so, what kind of surface might it be, and how will they adjust?
Will they til the land (or ocean, as the case may be)- raise livestock? Or will food be manufactured by some means?

All this involves not just thinking up the people but the planets, too! Earth-type worlds are one thing ~ Mars-type worlds another; and the more alien they get, the more innovative future colonists would have to be.

Use your thinking cap for this one… show us your interpretation of what life may be like in the future when humanity expands its territory to the furthest reaches of the solar system and beyond!

This challenge is for artwork only. No shirt designs, no i-phone covers, please!

No tribute art. Work must be original in concept.

No abstracts. No generic space-scapes; no aliens, unless they’re in the company of homo sapiens. This challenge is about Humanity on other worlds: so show us people and/or human constructs, not just landscapes.

All media accepted (paintings, drawings, Bryce, Photoshop, etc) but again no tribute art. Style and approach are up to you, but be original. Give some thought to text and titles, too. (It’s ok to make up a planet up and call it anything you want. This is Sci Fi! lol)

Judging / Voting Criteria

Vote for those you like the best. We encourage you to vote for more than one.

Base your choices on artistic merit, sci-fi quality, imagination and originality as well as how well the entries meet the challenge theme.

As always, No Soliciting of Votes. Any member caught padding the ballot box either via Bubblemail, Facebook or any other venue will have their work removed.

Rewards & Prizes

Winner’s Banner! Feature on our Group Home Page! Plus, the winning artist gets enlisted to our crew of Featured Artists here at Sci-Fi. Winner will receive a $20 voucher from the Bubble if it has at least 5 votes. Ties will be recognized.

Runners-up (Top 10) also get a banner if we have 20 entries or more. Otherwise, we’ll recognize the Top 5.

Additional Information

Please be sure your entry is accepted in the group!

Be sure your artwork’s in compliance with our group focus and requirements, as well as the challenge rules. In fairness to the other members, any work deemed otherwise in the opinion of the hosts will be deleted from the challenge prior to the start of voting.

Older work is welcome ~ newer work is better yet. Three weeks to enter, one week to vote. As always, hope you’ll have some fun with this!

[Note: Hosts, as members too, may enter challenges. However, if the host who originates the challenge happens to win a $20 voucher, he or she will donate the voucher to the group either in an upcoming challenge, or award.]
