Sci Fi (only 4 per day, please)

Classic Science Fiction ~ Sci Fi/Fantasy

Your Best Sci-Fi Setting / $20 voucher

This challenge closed about 5 years ago.

The Challenge

This challenge is for extra-solar planets, other-wordly moons, etc. … far-flung places not at all like Earth where science fiction stories could be set.

It’s true that science fiction stories can be set on Earth…. but in this case we’re focusing on Strange and Far Away. Pretend you’ve just come out of hyper-space and landed ~ and your first reaction is “My God! We know we’re not in Kansas, anymore!”

This challenge is for Art Work Only. All concepts must be yours! No tribute art such as Star Trek, Dr. Who, Star Wars, etc.

All entries in this challenge must be IMAGES (no shirt designs or i-phone covers, please)!

You don’t have to tell the story even though we’d love it if you did! Text and titles should be science fiction too so try to be specific, though… “The Canyons of Doom on Antares 7” is much more exciting than a title such as “Space-scape,” for example.

Let’s see your best original ideas for that book or movie you have always dreamed you’d do! And if you haven’t dreamed about it, this could be the time… ?

You can include your characters (or not); but the main emphasis should be on alien landscapes and other-worldly landscapes not remotely like the view at home. (There will be a later challenge focusing on characters.)

Judging / Voting Criteria

You may vote for more than one. Base your choices on the quality of artwork, creativity and how well an image fits the challenge theme.

Warning: No Soliciting of Votes! Any member caught padding the ballot box either via Facebook or Bubblemail, will have their work removed and also be deleted from the group. It may sound harsh but soliciting for votes is FRAUD, especially when monetary prizes are involved. It will not be tolerated and as always we will monitor the process.

Rewards & Prizes

The winner will receive a $20 voucher from the Bubble, as well as a banner and be show-cased on our Group Home Page.

In the event of a tie for 1st Place, both winners will be honored in accord with Bubble policy.

Runners up also get a banner and a mention. If we have more than 25 entries this will be the Top 10. If less, we will recognize the Top 5.

Additional Information

Work must be accepted in the group to qualify! Be sure your work adheres to the focus of the challenge and the group; all entries deemed otherwise will be removed at the discretion of the hosts.

We’re looking forward to some super innovative, far out work ~ “Engage! And make it so!”
