Focus of this Challenge: Voyaging Through Time
Traveling through time has been a science fiction mainstay ever since the days of H.G. Wells. Whether via mechanisms (time machines) or randomly appearing rifts leading into co-existent time-lines just beyond our own, temporal voyaging has always held a fascination for the sci-fi reader/viewer and the fan of quantum physics, too. Many theorists today believe it’s “possible” – if not so simple to achieve. Some even say, it happens all the time (if you’ll excuse the pun) and now and then, a person slips from one era to another barely conscious he or she has even gone somewhere.
Either way – whatever your visions and ideas on the topic – this challenge is the place to show us what you think, or tell us the time-travel tale you would like to tell!
THIS IS NOT A FAN-ART CHALLENGE! Original Ideas, please!! Your hosts here at Sci-Fi are tremendous fans of Dr. Who (and Star Trek too) but this time out, any artwork based on well-established series and/or movies and/or science fiction novels will not qualify.
This is also a challenge for Artwork and writing: No shirt designs, and no i-phone covers, please.
We invite writing in this challenge (hope to see some!) but it must accompany an image, under Text. If and when there is a way to do a writing challenge on the Bubble we will do one… but presently the system only works for Art.
Either way text and titles are important: let us know, either in your title or your text, that your art relates to the subject, please! “Done in Bryce” does not relate to time travel, nor does “Abstract in Green.” Sci-fi and surrealism can be similar – but they are not the same. Very often, the difference is a matter of the title, or a couple words.
We’re looking forward to some cool and innovative science fiction work! So put on your thinking caps, and let your imaginations fly!
Pick the ones you think most innovative; you can vote for more than one.
No Soliciting of Votes! Any member caught padding the ballot box either via Facebook or Bubblemail, will have their work removed and also be deleted from the group. It may sound harsh but soliciting for votes is FRAUD, especially when monetary prizes are involved. It will not be tolerated and we WILL be monitor the process.
The winner will receive a $20 voucher from the Bubble, as well as a banner and be show-cased on our Group Home Page.
In the event of a tie for 1st Place, both winners will be honored in accord with Bubble policy.
Runners up also get a banner and a mention. If we have more than 30 entries this will be the Top 10. If less than 30 we will recognize the Top 5.
Again, no fan-art in the challenge please! Artwork only (t-designs and i-phone covers will not qualify.)
Work must be accepted in the group to qualify! Be sure your work adheres to the focus of the challenge; all entries deemed otherwise will be removed at the discretion of the hosts.
