Sci Fi (only 4 per day, please)

Classic Science Fiction ~ Sci Fi/Fantasy

YOUR BEST SCI-FI! / $20 voucher challenge

This challenge closed almost 6 years ago.

The Challenge

No single or specific theme for this one… enter what you feel is your BEST sci-fi!

Let’s see your Favorites; the most outstanding science fiction art you’ve ever done!

If you don’t have a favorite yet, consult your Cosmic Muse . Create something new! This challenge will be open for a full 3 weeks, so you have some time.

This challenge is for Art only. If you have a shirt design you think should qualify, please re-submit it as an artwork! NO FAN ART, though! We love it, but for this your work should be Original.

Remember… entries must be SCIENCE FICTION. As such, they should suggest or tell a science fiction story. No abstracts, no fractal patterns, please! Imagine you’re submitting artwork to a sci-fi publisher. Make it visually dynamic and exciting! Something they would feature on the cover of a science fiction book! (Horror and Fantasy are not in the mix. Different genres, different stuff!)

The line can be thin, but among the best definitions of the term is from Ted Sturgeon: “A science fiction story is a story built around human beings, with a human problem, and a human solution, which would not have happened at all without its scientific content.”

More here, if you’re in doubt!

Prior challenge winners are NOT eligible!

Judging / Voting Criteria

When it comes to voting, the most important thing is… VOTE!

Vote for your favorites; vote for more than one! You know the drill… pick the ones you think best exemplify the world of Science Fiction, based on artistic excellence and concept!

Rewards & Prizes

In addition to the Usual (winners’ banner, bragging rights, the Warm Fuzzies when you know your image won), winner will receive a $20 voucher from the Bubble!

Winner will be featured on our Group Home Page and get a Special Winner’s Page, as well. The Top 10 will each get banners (provided we have more than 20 entries. Otherwise, we will award the Top 5).

Per Bubble policy for vouchers, ties WILL be recognized. Not the most ideal situation, but it happens all the time.

Additional Information

Please be sure your entry’s in the group by voting time! If not, it will be removed and you will forfeit your chance to win.

Images deemed unsuitable or which fail to comply with our criteria will also be removed. (Don’t worry ~ you’ll be notified in time to choose another for the challenge). Again, Prior challenge winners are NOT eligible!

Remember, artwork is the Main Performer here but text and titles count as well! “Landscape Done in Bryce” is not a science fiction title: “The 7th Moon of Aldorr” is! Sometimes, words make all the difference in the world and determine whether what you’ve done is really sci-fi.

Have some fun with this one, folks! We’re looking forward to a lot of Truly Stellar Work!

~ ENGAGE! ~
