According to the San Francisco Cable Car Museum, Cable Car Number 22 on the Powell-Hyde Line was built by the Mahoney Bros. in 1887 for the Ferries & Cliff House Railway (Powell Street Railway). Assigned to the Sacramento-Clay cable car line before the Earthquake and Fire of 1906, the United Railroads transferred it back to the Powell Street cable car lines in 1907. Prior to 1973 this cable car was numbered as 522.

People often think of the Golden Gate Bridge when they think of San Francisco. We love pictures of our beautiful bridge, but we want to show images of the different landmarks, neighborhoods, parks, and all that is the City. If you have visited and taken pictures, or if you live here and love taking pictures of your town, join us and share your work!
