Antelope Canyon in Northern Arizona is a product of wind, sand, water, debris, and lots of time. Wind blows sand into the canyon from above where it filters down from layer to layer, ripple to ripple like the grains in an hour glass. The colors are primarily a firey orange and a moody purple. This shot is natural light, nature scene setting in the camera, and only minimal clairity and recovery done in Elements. The etherial quality of the light makes you forget there are another 90 or so people wandering through the canyon with you. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 Featured in Rising Stars 11/15/09
The great abandoned observatory on Kaylan Dire as stood empty since well before the Great Expansion. / It was built to observe the movement of ships beyond the Rim. / At the time humanity was just starting to explore the galaxy after the war with the Plutonians. They knew there were races beyond the Rim, they had on but were not really sure of their intentions. / They had been visited by no less than six different species of beings, but the war really left them very wary. I included this image because my great, great, grandsire was stationed here for 234 years, I have always being intrigued by the vids and pics of the planet he left at home. / Now I’m able to see for myself the beauty he captured firsthand. There was an old movie of the same name, I must have seen it 300 times.
Thought this scene was very tranquil whilst walking through the churchyard of Walberton village. Then I added the post production which made it quite eerie looking with a misty look to it Canon EOS450D; ISO100; 55mm; f/5.6; 1/160sec

If I could, / I would claw out all traces / of the one that left me without going, / Until only your scent / Lingers on my hands; / Where only my thoughts are what keep me from you. / But we are what we made ourselves to be / Through little breaths / And imaginings. / (The undoing is harder than the creating) / We are there for the fragments of memory we regret; / We cannot escape the things that have gone undone and / Gone too far. / I will wait for the moment when the burn feels just right / And then I will let go. / (10pm

Trantis Pass as approached from the Painted Desert. Wonderful with the outlines of the Trantis Temple pyramids and the guardian hold Trantis Keep high above the desert floor. A great capture on any world. / The pyramid in the foreground is an ancient structure known as the Marble Gate, nobeing knows what it is. / The cult of Tranis as been formed around it and many temples were built, the followers believe the gate is the entrance to the future.

The firey sunset across the Scaril Sea is a sight worth capturing.
The setting at Mescal resembles a late 1800’s town complete with a dusty main street lined with one and two-story buildings. Cattle are frequently the inhabitants, along with rolling tumbleweeds coming to a stop against a leaning hitching post. Wind flutters curtains through windows. And off in the distance, rolling hills lead to lofty mountain heights that play with the imagination… Located just 45 minutes from the parent home of Old Tucson Studios, the Mescal film set offers an old western town atmosphere atop a gentle hill surrounded by natural tall grasses and native cacti. This location has been featured in over 50 film, television and commercial productions including: Monte Walsh (1968 with Lee Marvin), Dirty Dingus Magee (1970 with Frank Sinatra), The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (1972 with Paul Newman), Tombstone (1993 with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer), The Quick and the Dead (1994 with Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman) and Buffalo Soldiers (1997 with Danny Glover). Unlike Old Tucson Studios, Mescal is a movie set. You won’t find fake gunfights or simulated hangings here, just a tour guide who will related the site’s history. It is in pretty bad shape so it’s unlikely that many more movies will be made there. It is located near Benson, Arizona. I walked Max every morning on the nearby golf course. One of the worker’s children who was riding with his father asked if he could pat Max. That’s when the love affair began. PJ loved throwing the ball and Max loved bringing it back to him. I decided I had to record this affair with my camera. Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28.
