This is a pic of St. George’s School Newport RI. I don’t know how this shot came out so well. I took it from the car, at dusk, going about 35 miles an hour. I don’t know how I didn’t get glare from the window or blur from driving. Thank you Canon 50D for taking a great shot!
These are historic houses in my area. There is a big mill right behind my house and these are the stone houses the workers used to live in. Some are still beautifuly restored and make my neighborhood quaint and historic. They even have walking tours of the area! / They were part of the Stillwater Mills in Esmond, RI It is a 11×14 acrylics on canvas. I did alot of work with the palette knife and it really alot to the texture of the stones. I did this from an old historic black and white picture I found in a story about the mill.

Chapel – A classic Gothic chapel built in 1928 with John Nicholas Brown’s donation and designed by Ralph Adams Cram, the whole school congregates in the Chapel for two services weekly, one true to the school’s Episcopalian identity and one in which a senior or faculty member gives a meaningful speech. There are two additional optional services; a Friday night Compline service, and a Sunday Evening Prayer. In 2005, the Chapel organ was completely renovated, and now it also features a choral practice space and a new pipe organ. Once a week the elite chapel choir, consisting of nearly 80 students, sings. The choir is led by Dr. Gesualdo, known fondly as “Doc G” by the various members of the choir. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._George’s_School,_Newport / or Here / to learn more about the private prep school, here in Rhode Island. During the month of February I am traveling by train to visit family and friends around the U.S. This is my fourth cross country trip by train. But in this case I will fly back. / I will be in Austin for several days, Los Angeles one day, and San Diego a few days. / I will be carrying a hungry camera and looking for “must see” places while on this cross country train tour. I am a fan of top notch museums as well, if anyone has ideas for me. / Either tip me off below or send me a msg. / Any Red blooded American RedBubblers who want to meet for a coffee along the route, I will gladly consider along the way. Actually you don’t really have to be an American :) / Some of the most interesting folks I have ever met were on train tours! / Hopefully I will have lots of new stuff to post during the long winter months ahead. MORE ABOUT RHODE ISLAND
This is a group that is comprised of Rhode Islanders who wish to express how they view the experience of living in our small state by the Atlantic Ocean. We are surrounded by beaches, ocean, and a wonderful bay. We have farms, towns, villages, and cities. The subject matter is limited to what “is” part of Rhode Island, not what you saw on vacation elsewhere. The viewers should get a distinct insight about Rhode Island from your encountering your works.
Works must be of the highest quality only.
A limit of two works a day please. And please comment on other works!
The group moderators may decide to delete works that are not of high quality, or are not distinctive in our judgment.
We may have challenges for the group members if there is interest.
