A simple little white flower – pure and beautiful.

“The falling leaves drift by the window / The autumn leaves of red and gold / I see your lips, the summer kisses / The sun-burned hands I used to hold Since you went away the days grow long / And soon Ill hear old winters song / But I miss you most of all my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall” / Johnny Mercer/”Autumn Leaves” Autumn leaves were one of the first things I remember photographing when I got my Nikon FM2 back in the mid-80’s. I still enjoy those few magic weeks when all the hues of the foliage are splashed across the trees. The song “Autumn Leaves” has long been one of my favorites… so full of loss and melancholy and capturing so well the mixed feelings that are so common at this time of year. I shot this out in my backyard here in beautiful New Jersey.

I was very happy to capture Chantel in one of my daily poses. You can often catch me like this until I’m rudely interrupted by a three year old attacking me with a butt-hug. Clingy at that age, aren’t they :) www.cathleentarawhiti.co.nz Model - Chantel Goodin / MUA/hair stylist – Anna Bronlund / Robe supplied by / Cathleens Magical Wardrobe Featured in Buyers Club / Thank you. ‘come knock at our door, come on in…we promise you’ll be safe, we promise you an eternal rest…’ – sighed the odd looking inn keeper.

She is an inspiration to me, her pose, her hair, this whole piece is just amazing….as if she stepped out from a page in a truly haunting tale…. / She is from my cherished vintage “La Belle Epoque’ era collection…I just had to dust her off and bring her out for your viewing pleasure, let her beauty live in through the years and never be forgotten!

Today is so sleek and modern and fresh and new, but some of us still adore (and prefer) the vintage looks of decades past. Whether this be created in-camera, by camera model or choice, in post-editing, or simply by the magic of digital or film photography, we want to see what you’ve got.
