mixed meda winter landscape work composed of clay, coloured canvas and acrylic paint on a box canvas frame representing falling and snow filled clouds.
Original drawing – pencil on paper, coloured in with the computer. I made the drawing about ten years ago, then put it aside to let it get a bit ratty looking. I photographed the drawing with a 1MP camera and enlarged it to get a kind of freckled effect. Then I used the photo manager that came with the computer to colour it in, no photoshopping here. The different colours in it are a result of how the paper has aged.

Original 60cm x 60cm, 2007. A unique archival pigment ink on Torchon fine art paper print, mounted and framed. No border. Handled and signed. #1 of 1 sold. This image explores another interesting line of enquiry, well actually (to be entirely accurate) it combines two. First, it explores the Fibonacci number system; 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89… Second, it demonstrates an important technique. A technique based on combining component works in the digital domain to produce an entirely new outcome in the real world. A technique I call Fusion. In this instance three component images have been layered. First a scanned acrylic on paper painting; second a photograph of an oil pastel on paper painting taken with deliberate camera movement; and third an original digital painting. All these components were made with this specific outcome in-mind, but this is not always the case. Indeed all outcomes – both analogue and digital – are stored in a library and have the potential of being a component in a future Fusion. http://blog.codedimages.com / http://codedimages.com / http://revad.com
Oil on Canvas / 24” x 36” / A slightly smaller work than it’s predecessor, this piece was more of an exercise to get back into the flow of painting after an extended absence from the medium. Some parts turned out better than I expected, while other elements I find a little disappointing. Still, it feels good to pick up a brush again after so many years of working with such an unnatural tool as a mouse and computer monitor and I have begun work on at least 10 more new pieces.

Remodernism is an alternative to the established High Art hegemony, known as Post-Modernism, and its institutionalized cynicism and ironic detachment.
As an Art Movement, it is somewhat unusual, insofar as it is defined by the artists’ intentions, rather than by any formal qualities of the artwork. In other words, Remodernism is a way of thinking about art, and the purpose of art, rather than a specific way of making it.
Briefly, Remodernists do not think that Modern Art is rubbish, we do not believe that communication via art is impossible, and we do believe that one of the legitimate goals of an artist can be the sincere expression of an authentic personal spirituality.
Spirituality does not equal religion. Religion is about beliefs and following rules. Spirituality is about the search for truth and Love.
