Sony alpha dslr fault

shit happens – the warranty runs out and…….....

My Sony Alpha has developed an intermittent fault.

No not the idiot using it.

A few times lately the camera has suddenly ceased to answer any of the function buttons – the only thing that will work is the shutter button on full press and the dial for the exposure etc.

Then the auto-focus goes mental and starts shooting the lens in and out like it’s got a poltergeist (even when the auto-focus is switched off as it is most of the time).

I’ve tried all the usual stuff – changing batteries, mem cards, cleaning the lens contacts bla bla but nothing is helping and now it’s getting more frequent.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with a Sony – or any other camera for the matter – and if so how did you cure it.
