Getting beyond the garbage: Please help!

Hi Bubblers,
I recently spent three days in Guizhou, SW China. The album of my favourite images can be seen on my picasa site

I’ve posted one or two on the bubble but am not really sure about ANY of them. Comments on how I can make these images more punchy or interesting gratefully received. My sense is that they are, in the main at least, pretty average ‘snaps’. If there is anything ‘special’ hiding amongst the dross I’m struggling to identify which image it might be and so I’d be really grateful for your help!

Some of them are pretty nice travel shots that will be great for your own puposes. Some are great shots that have a photojounalistic quality to them and which capture a piece of everyday life in the country and would maybe just need a slight bit of editing. Unfortunately, it’s tough to go through an entire album and pick out certain ones and try to decscribe which ones the reference is to, since they do not all have titles to identify them.

You should pick out a couple at a time and post them here for specific critique.
